Finally I have been able to load the picture for the Zebra!! (G354) This is part of our Global range, and I wanted to share with you the behind the scenes activity with this particular piece!
With most shows that I do, I have a tendancy to work on a new design, which was the case when I was working down the Gold Coast, and had just started doing the Zebra's. I had stitched the 'head' of the main zebra, when the lass doing the promotion, came past on the loud speaker, encouraging folk to come and see this 'Great design being stitched of a Giraffe'!! Well guess it bought a smile to my face along with a big question mark?? The following week, after the main Zebra was finished along with other parts of the design, it was propped up in the office, so I could look at it, and work out the next step. A customer came in 'Oh, Lorna, that giraffe looks soo good!' ?? Then a few days later, when the accountant called in, her remark was the same!! I had to laugh, but also challenged her, a giraffe?? Why did she say Giraffe? Maybe she could unravel the mystery as to why so many saw the wrong animal! She suspected that as both are found in Africa, and often together, that the mind associated them together! It still brings a smile to my face when I see the picture, and wonder how many others see a giraffe in this design? You can smile with me!
Favorites from the African jungle, these Zebra's are bold against the bush. Printed on Sage green fabric, in Size '3'. (30 x 40 cm / 11.8" x 15.7"). Another from our Global Range.
And this coming weekend, 30th June - 2nd July, I will be working at the Redcliffe Show, just north of Brisbane. I will be working on a new design called 'Cheryl's Vases', size 3, and it will be interesting to hear what people have to say about this one! Expect it to be finished and released before the end of this year.
